Display Cases
These days display cases and model covers are not only found in museums. If not you personally, almost certainly you know someone who has a valued possession that they would love to show off, but worry about little hands (or dust) damaging the item. In time past display cases were very little more than inverted fish tanks; they were heavy, ugly and expensive. Today we can make display cases in all sorts of shapes and sizes, to protect and preserve what might be a doll, a model, or a piece of sports memorabilia. A little while ago I was asked if we made glass display cases. My answer was that we prefer to always work with acrylic. This inquiry did prompt me to think about why we choose acrylic (Perspex) over glass. Acrylic is around about half the weight of glass, which is very important when a display cover needs to be lifted or moved. Acrylic can also be worked, e.g. drilled, at any stage, and is very easy to machine. In comparison to glass, which requires specialised machines to cut and polish. If you would like to discuss having a display case or cabinet made, perhaps for a gift, please give us a call!
We can offer you a verity of Display cases, from a Retail Display Case, odenery Foldet Display Case (dust cover), Museums grade glued or portable Display Cases with fixings.
